Security concerns are increasing in all parts of the world relating to your family, vehicles, and other property. However, GPS car systems provide a solution to your vehicles security. Global positioning systems are used for navigation, land surveying, treks and applications in scientific procedures. These navigational systems are also located in boats, cars, trucks, mobile phones and many other surveillance applications.
You might want to know how the GPS visual interface works before you get one for your car. GPS auto tracking systems basically use satellites for information to guide you when you are in your car. Usually, your position is visible on the navigation map of the GPS screen while voice prompts will guide you as and when you require help.
Auto GPS systems can aid in tracking stolen vehicles in real time. You can have better surveillance of company trucks, cabs, and buses. The main advantage of using vehicle GPS systems is small size and ease of installation. The advanced technological car monitoring systems calculate the direction and speed your car is driving to help keep you safe and on course.
There are four types of GPS systems which can be categorized as Car navigational systems, portable outdoor GPS units, GPS hybrid and marine GPS systems. Some of the more popular ones are Magellan Maestro 4000 portable auto GPS system, Streetpilot c550 automotive GPS system and Garmin car GPS system. China automotive GPS system manufacturers are making systems at cheaper rates, which might be a good option if price is a great concern to you.
Car GPS systems are simply and handy to use when you need to know your exact position without a road map.
When you are planning to get a car GPS tracking system, choose one which has live voice instructions along with visual maps, while you are driving. Voice instructions can be extremely helpful in getting you where you need to go especially when you are driving alone.
Good GPS car systems have a vital feature of Real Time tracking with a live wireless network for you to cross check directions and also get an update on the visual information available. GPS tracking systems are used for navigation and monitoring so it is best to choose quality over cost. Cheap systems may seem attractive in the beginning but failure rates are higher. Most GPS units are user friendly without a lot of technical jargon that you might not be able to understand.
In case, you have teenage kids who also drive the car, most GPS companies provide tracking at very minimal cost as the safety of your children is a major concern. If your car didn't come with a GPS system, I recommend getting one as soon as possible.

JL Audio Car Subwoofers: A Trusted Audio Brand
JL Audio produces some of the best car subwoofers on the market. The company, founded in 1975 by James Birch and Lucio Proni, began dominating the car audio industry starting in the late 1980's, during one of the booming times for the field. Many recommend JL Audio as the place to go for high quality subwoofers because these have led the competition for years and will continue to do so. Here's a brief overview of a few lines that JL Audio has released that demonstrate just how pioneering the company is.
The first popular products by JL Audio were the PowerWedges, which were the first enclosed speaker systems available at the time. PowerWedges are famous for being compact yet providing some of the newest technologies for the time. The 8W2 woofer was released to be used with the PowerWedges. Being successful as an 8-inch woofer, the 8W2 was also released in 10-inch and 12-inch versions, both just as successful.
JL Audio then released the W5 speakers series in 1987. This series was built on the premise that speakers could be much more powerful than they were at the time, and the W5 line surely raised the bar on future products. These speakers replaced the older ones that failed to give strong sound that maintained a certain level of quality. JL Audio could barely keep up with their orders during this period, demonstrating just how innovative this company was in developing advancements in the car audio industry.
The next notable JL Audio line was the W6 series. This time, the company focused on improving sound quality. Obviously, the W6 line was able to do so, because it was received very well in the market. However, it appears that this JL Audio series demonstrates a slight problem, as volume now becomes an issue. Regardless, the new innovations packaged as the W6 series have now also appeared in many other products released by other companies.
Considered the most technologically advanced and top of the line in the JL Audio arsenal, the W7 series introduces six new technologies bound to pack more power into the subwoofers. It's no wonder, because compared to the other products, like the W5 and W6 series, the W7 series is completely different. JL Audio built a subwoofer from scratch rather than improve on an existing one. These speakers fulfill the two major considerations: volume and sound quality. While the W5 focused on improving volume, and the W6 on quality, the W7 focuses on both.
As you can see, JL Audio's 35 years of experience materialize in the innovations of their speakers. Their products have consistently been the best of the best, and there's no doubt that their future products will continue to do so.

I am looking to purchase the Onkyo TX-SR507 receiver and the Onkyo SKS-HT728 speaker package. Is this any good?
I've heard someone say that tower speakers are exactly the same as bookshelf ones but more expensive as you are paying for the stand. Is this the case for this Onkyo speaker package or do the towers have something extra than the bookshelves? Also am I going to get the best out of the combination (receiver & speakers) or are there issues with compatibility? Do they go well together? Does it make any significant difference whether or not the subwoofer is powered via the receiver or the mains?

Receiver - http://www.eu.onkyo.com/products/TX-SR507.html
Thanks.
Also if I was purchase it how long would it be until it was out of date and would I need to replace both speakers and receiver?
That looks like a very well matched system to me.
Many people say it's better to spend money on better bookshelf speakers than floorstanders that will cost more for less quality because of their size, particularly if you're using a powered sub anyway. But, I've always liked floorstanders better. To me, a smooth sounding midrange is everything and many systems with small bookshelf speakers and a sub seem to lack there. There are small speakers that cover the mids and some lows very well, but not usually in the price-range you're looking in. I think the system with the small floorstanders would be a fine choice in this price-range! The powered sub is pretty much the standard these days and the one in that set looks decent enough. You will hook the powered sub to the receiver using a line-level RCA cable. Then, the bass management on the receiver will be used to easily control the crossover point and volume level of the sub by remote.
Really... I can't see any more major changes coming in home theater for awhile. The high-def audio and video formats have been established. The receivers already have more channels than you can fit speakers into your room... lol. I think you'd be "up to date" for quite awhile with this system.
Sony BDV-E770W
The Sony BDV-E770W is one of the best Blu-ray home theater systems we've tested, with excellent sound quality, tons of streaming-media options, 3D compatibility, and wireless rear speakers. The lack of HDMI inputs is the only big omission.
