Upon hearing the word "amplifier", people would often associate it with stereo components or other audio equipments. However, the word amplifier is not limited to these things because most of the electronic gadgets that you can see such as televisions and computers contain amplifier.
In general, electronic sound equipments work by representing sound as a varying electric current. Actually, it involves three steps in sound reproduction. These steps would include:
o A microphone diaphragm is moved back and forth by the sound waves. The microphone would then translate the movement to an electrical signal. These electrical signals produced would then represent compressions and rarefactions of the sound wave.
o These compressions and rarefactions would then be encoded by a recorder. It could either be magnetic impulses or grooves.
o After which, a player would reinterpret these patterns into electrical signals and use electricity in order to move the cone of speakers back and forth. Thus, the air pressure fluctuations that were previously recorded by the microphone were recreated.
It is very apparent that most functions involve translators which takes the signal and converts it from one form to another until the cycle is complete and it'll be translated back to its original form which is a physical sound wave.
The process might seem simple but the last process which involves pushing the speaker cones is difficult. The job of the amplifier is to produce a more powerful version of the audio signal. Amplifiers can actually be complex devices and compatibility is important especially when purchasing amplifiers.
In general, the basic concept of how an amplifier works is that a small current is used to modify a larger current. The goal of a good amplifier is to cause few distortions in the signals as much as possible. In an amplifier, the final signals mimic the original signals but have been boosted several times to provide a better sound quality.
Amplifiers make stronger and larger versions of a weaker and smaller signal. Through amplifiers, the sound quality is enhanced as well as the clarity. The signals are copied from the original and boosted to increase the quality; however, distortions are avoided as much as possible.
There are various kinds of amplifiers. But these amplifiers are mainly composed of two components which include the power supply which provides the energy to the signal and the amplifier which modifies and enhances the actual signal.
Good amplifiers produce sounds that are of good quality without causing distortions, adding noise to the original sound, or even causing variations. There are a lot of good amplifiers being sold that can produce good quality sounds.

Finding The Best Electric Guitar Amp
If you have an electric guitar than you are probably are wishing to rock out as loud as you possibly can so you can get caught up in the music. The only way that you are able to really play this is if you have the right amp. Selecting any cheap amp that you find is not going to help at all. You have to stick with something that is going to give you the proper sound that you are searching for.
You need to acquire a combo amp or even a head and cabinet. When they are distinct like this you will have a bigger space to work with and the sound will be incredible. The only trouble with these is that they are tough to take with you when you travel for gigs.
Before you leave to go to the store you have to decide whether you want to use a solid state or tube. The tubes are vintage in both appearance and sound - which is why a lot of people love them. Unluckily they weigh a good deal and if they are broken you will either pay a good deal of money to repair it or replace it. Purchase the best of both worlds by getting a hybrid tube and solid state amp. These are much newer and are becoming different in the way that they sound.
Seek to get one that is going to have a great deal of controls so that you can tone it up as needed. It may be daunting and you will have to learn a few things about how it works - but it will help. With these controls you will have the ability to control the low, mid, and high EQ, overdrive, reverb, and presence. Be sure that they will actually help you and are not a waste of space. If you can, play a few guitar chords to test it out.

Will using a 1000 watt amp to run a 1200 watt sub blow my amp and/or sub?
I just bought a 1200 Watt, 15 inch Sub
and a 4 channel 1000 Watt amp
both American Boss.
I don't really understand a lot about amps and subs,
but will using a 1000 watt amp to run a 1200 watt sub blow my amp and/or sub?
depends. Are the subs 1200W RMS or MAX? why did u get a 4 channel amp for it? You really need a mono amp. If the subs are 1200W MAX then you need a 1200W max mono amp. If they are 1200W RMS then you need a 2400W MAX mono amp. but if you use the 4 channel amp you should be ok but you won't get as much power as the subs need. If the 1000W 4 channel amp is 1000 whatts max then it should only be around 125 watts RMS per channel. If it is 1000 RMS then you are looking at about 250 watts rms into each sub.
RMS= constant power
MAX= instantaneous peak power.
normally you would take the MAX wattage of the speaker/amp and divide by 2 then divide by how many channels. This will give you the right amount of RMS into each channel or speaker.
