Why don't my MTX Audio Thunder 4000 12" subwoofers work?

I'm running a KAC - 7203 Kenwood 1000 W Max Output amplifier to 2 - MTX Thunder 4000 T4124 12" subs. The amp can put out 170 W x 2 at 4 ohms, 250 x 2 at 2 ohms, and 500 x 1 at 4 ohms. The subs have a RMS handling power of 200W and a total power handle of 400W. Yet when i plug the subs in, they barely produce any sound at all. Plus, my amplifier gets extremely hot at times. Help?
Also, when i attach different subwoofers, my friends (2) Xsite 10" 600W Max handling power subs, they work just fine.
I have checked my wiring time and time again, perhaps I wired them wrong? I had the right speaker working for a little bit by plugging it into one channel while the other speaker just sat there. All of a sudden the right speaker wouldn't work, so I plugged in the left speaker by bridging the connection (which was alot louder) and that recently stopped working.

I would confirm the wiring of the amp. The RCA cable may not be all the way in the amp. You may have bad speakers or not wired correctly.
