The Ultimate Attenuator, manufactured by Mark Gregg of Magus Innovations LLC, is an electronic device used for controlling the volume of an amplifier in a guitar. The device is directly mounted on the amplifier's input jacks to achieve the best and most transparent sound. This attenuator functions similarly with other attenuators such as the fiber attenuator, Weber attenuator, and digital attenuator. The Ultimate Attenuator lessens the amplitude or power of a signal in a manner that the waveform is not distorted.
According to its basic schematic, this attenuator has a fixed resistor that is in series with the signal and switchable variable resistance to ground. The attenuator provides signal load in an easy way for the amplifier's output transformer circuit. This loaded signal will serve as an input to an active-powered amplification circuit. The powered signal is then transferred by the attenuator to the speaker.
The following are some of the features of the electronic device: 100 watt maximum output, non-stepped continuous volume controller, bedroom switch, true bypass switching, dual speaker output jacks, plexi switch,100 volts tap fixed alternating current (AC) output, quiet cooling fan, variable line level output, and an all-steel construction. The 100 volts fixed AC tap protects the amplifier's components and tubes. Meanwhile, the bedroom switch is utilized in settings where low volume is required. The plexi switch is designed to modify top end response. One benefit of this kind of attenuator is that it can be switched from 120 volts to 240 volts, meaning it can be utilized anywhere in the world.
Based on several product reviews, this attenuator is safe and reliable. Because it uses a load resistor with 30 ohm, the Ultimate Attenuator can receive signal loads of 4, 8, 16 ohms from the guitar's amplifier. The company even offers a 2 ohm version of the product. The attenuator's built-in low impedance power amplifier helps to achieve strong and high frequency response. The product also delivers low volume sound with least impact. There will be no changes in resistance even if the user turns the device down. This attenuator is even compatible with older and non-master volume versions of Marshall Amplifiers. The attenuator is also compatible with Mullard power tubes. However, one negative aspect of the product is its use of the 30 ohm load. According to critics, using a 30 ohm load will reduce the power regardless of the amplifier being used. Some users even suggest enhancing the product's features such as the addition of switch to improve the bass or treble frequencies. Furthermore, many users find the attenuator very expensive. This is because there are other good devices found in the market sold for lower prices.
The latest version of the Ultimate Attenuator is the Nude 24 position model. This nude unbalanced attenuator model is more transparent and cheaper because it has no chassis. However, one downside of this model is that it will not properly fit on any component having an input jack closer together than.75 inch center to center.

Enjoy music outdoors anywhere
A solar powered wireless speaker can be used anywhere in the home or garden up to 150 feet from your sound source. This wireless speaker allows you to listen to your mp3/mp4 player, stereo, CD/DVD player, radio, television, or PC sound anywhere around your home or backyard without cables or wires. The sun makes this a very versatile piece of equipment as it powers the wireless speaker. The speaker is very easy to use; you plug the transmitter into the audio outlet of your component and switch on the wireless speaker and your ready to go. It is ideal for outdoor parties, barbeques, or anywhere where electricity or extension cords are impractical - such as on boats, on building sites and the beach.
The solar speaker comes with everything you need including all the leads you are likely to need to connect the small transmitter to your sound source. The speaker comes with its own remote control so you don't even need to get up from your sun lounger to change the volume. One day's charge in the sun is sufficient for hours of play. If you do wish to recharge the battery manually, a charger unit is supplied.
This speaker derives its power from 7 AA rechargeable batteries that can be charged by two separate sources. It comes with a electrical plug pack or via it’s built in solar panel mounted on top. The speakers are contained in a robust, weatherproof housing making it ideal for outdoor entertainment. The 900Mhz frequency will allow the speaker to be mounted up to around 50 Meters away from the transmitter. It transmits through walls and floors with crystal clear sound.
Using a super efficient class D amplifier and an energy conservation unit the speaker can achieve high sound quality and strength equivalent to a 30W Speaker. Special circuitry and PCP design allow the speaker to be played at full volume without any distortion. The OMNI directional design projects 70db sound in all directions. Also features two Audio Channels and a DVD/CD and MP3 setting switch.
This solar outdoor speaker system makes taking your music anywhere you want to go.

Jerome Sturgeleski is an avid outdoors person and loves to stay out in his yard after dark. He lives in Minnesota so time outdoors is limited to just a few months of the year. After completing a landscaping project he thought the must be a way to light it up so he could enjoy in on those evenings out. He added some solar lights and liked it so well that he decided to start a website and sell solar lights so others could also add them and enjoy their outdoor spaces well into the evening. He started a website in May of 2005 called http://www.solarlightspro.com to allow people to see what types that are available.
Pyle Marine Amps - Quality Brand?
Are Pyle marine amps a respectable, decent quality brand? I need an amp to push 4 Polk Audio component speakers so I don't want to hook them up to a cheap piece of junk. I would just use a Polk Audio amp but I need it to be marine rated and Polk doesn't offer a marine rated amp for my application. The Pyle PLMRA620 would be awesome though and since it's 6-channel I could add subs to my system later on when I get more money!
And yes I know this is the Cars Audio section but I figured I'd get better answers than in the general boating section.
I would love to buy a Kicker or a Polk or an Alpine amp but none of their marine amps are sufficient for what I need. If I get a good brand it's going to have to be a standard car amp and I'm going to have to find a way to keep it protected from water.
Pyle is total bottom of the barrel flea market junk. Dont waste your time. Why do you keep insisting on using cheap junk brands?
Dude, just buy a kicker marine amp and get it over with. In the end, you get what you pay for. You dont want your garbage pyle amp failing when you are out at sea having a good time.....
