I have a 5.1 bose sound system, would I be able to get hd sound from a playstation3 player?

Well blue ray is blue ray. As long as the PS3 has HD sound outputs and it is compatable with the bose system i would expect HD sound. However if the bose system is not HD you will not get HD sound every component from reciever to speaker (speakers being the only exception) have to be HD otherwise the sound quality will be downgraded to whatever the output of the device is.
Just to explain this better imagine hooking up your ipod to a amp that only had monoral sound thats pretty much how it works you only get the best of the worst component in the string of components.
