This article which I am writing now is about a newly launched automobile by Acura, the ACURA TL. XM Radio Low Audio Quality?

I just subscribed for XM radio for a car I purchased for my wife. The car is a 04 Cadillac CTS and it has the built in XM radio unit, it's not an after market portable unit. I just turned it on and it was set on the regular local FM station, so I switched over to XM and noticed that it was very quiet. So I cycled through some channels and it was the same on all channels. The stereo unit is factory, but the audio in the car sounds pretty good with several speakers and a 10" woofer. I had to crank it all the way up but it still wasn't very loud at all, so I switched it back to local FM thinking something may be wrong with the entire unit, but FM was blaring. So I turned on a CD and it was blaring too. I turned it back to XM, and it was still quiet. Anyone ever notice this? Any help is appreciated!

Join the club, man. I have XM for my car and the signal is always quieter than my plain FM stations. The CD, if it is the actual CD and not a burned one, will play louder and clearer because of the quality of the CD. Basically, the XM signal is crap. But, you can possibly do one thing to fix it: if your car lets you choose bass, mid, and treble settings for each "source" you have, then change the settings for your "XM source." To fix this problem, I had to turn the "mid" up a bit (if you don't have it, disregard this step) and I had to turn the "treble" up a tad bit more than the mid (you can change it to your likings.) You don't really have to mess with the bass, because the bass is already there (or it's just that way with mine.)
