BMW 325CI 2004 A/C is acting flaky.Compressor is operational but sometimes it cools and sometimes it does not?

Just vacumm the system and replace new freon. could it be the climate control console? regardless if i move the temperature gauge, sometimes it works fine (cold air) and sometimes i does not. blower is working just fine.. can anyone help? thanks
also, when i move the temperature up and down nothing happens (air temperature stays the same).

It could be a lot of things!. Clogged drier, clogged expansion valve, or it has a leak in the system and your getting low level of freon. When is the last time your a/c was service? It can be very dirty and your a/c will not going to give cool air. Hope this helps!
