Although there are plenty of valid excuses for getting satellite TV, a few stand out from the rest. In reality though, no matter how you slice it, signing up just makes sense. Even if you already know that and are sold on the service, you may have a significant other who's not quite ready to make the switch. In any case, try seeing if any one of these valid excuses rings true with you and your situation.

1. You're tired of paying too much for entertainment. This is especially true if you get your entertainment outside of your home. A couple of examples of such entertainment are going to the movies and going to live sports games. For both, you could easily drop $20 for a ticket and some food. If you have to pay for family members you're going to have to multiply that figure. One night out doing either of those two things can pay for an entire month of nonstop satellite entertainment, and you'd even have some money leftover. That sounds like a much better deal.

2. You just want to enjoy your entertainment at home. After a long day at work, do you really want to go through the hassle of getting dressed up and driving somewhere for your fun, only to end up spending too much for it? Sometimes people would rather just go home and stay home. With satellite TV, you can just sit down on your comfortable couch and let the entertainment come to you.

3. You're tired of watching the same movies over and over again. Your favorite movies may cease to be your favorite movies if you watch them too much. Do anything too much and you're bound to get bored of doing it because the novelty factor will eventually wear off. With satellite TV, you'll get a steady stream of new releases and old favorites that will always keep you entertained. As a bonus, you won't have to worry about maintaining a collection anymore.

4. You want a DVR for a cheap price. If you don't know what a DVR can do for your viewing experience, just know that once you try one you'll never want to watch TV without it. It essentially puts you in control of your satellite programming. Most satellite TV packages come standard with a DVR, or they offer it for an extremely minimal additional cost. If you want to buy one on your own you're definitely going to spend a lot more than that additional satellite service cost.

5. You found a great deal on the internet for a subscription. Quite frankly, most people are suckers for great deals, and why not? They don't come along everyday and they can really end up saving you a lot of money. Deals come about for many reasons, but the main reason is because companies want to gain your business. To do that, they have to give you what you want. Therefore, by their very definition, a deal is right up your alley.

If you want to learn more about how to get a great deal, seek out the expert satellite professionals. The best deals on cable tv are no match for what satellite can offer, so don't even think about signing up for cable.

Satelite Television - Huge Entertainment Opportunities

Satellite TV has gained in popularity over the last few years for good reasons. Many people live too far out of town to get cable, so for years they were stuck with antennas for their source of television signals. This meant that they got only a few channels, and quite often had to send someone outside to turn the antenna to hope for a better signal. But now satellite TV has given people in rural areas real entertainment again.

Besides the access for people outside of town, satellite tv offers a good alternative for renting movies all the time. If you are a real movie lover, you might think about getting an upgraded package to include movie channels in your menu. This way, you get to see all the new releases and more. And you never have to leave the house to rent, or worry about late fees. You simply pay your monthly bill and leave the rest to your provider.

Of course, with satellite TV, you do have to have a receiver. Sometimes companies will offer promotional opportunities for you to get your equipment free or cheap when you give them your business. Other times, you may have the option of buying, or renting the equipment. Even though it may seem like a lot of money at the time, these receivers will last you a long time if you treat them right.

Satellite TV can also be a good educational resource if you have anyone in the household still in school. The history channel, discovery channel, and all sorts of news channels are often provided in basic packages. This way, you can have the information with just a click of the remote.

Another reason that parents like satellite TV is the control locks. If there are certain channels that you do not want your children watching, you simply set those channels as locked. When someone tries to view one of those channels, it will then ask for a parental code. If the user does not know the code, he will not be able to view it. Just make sure that the code is something that you can easily remember, but that would be hard for anyone else to guess. This way, it is accessible to you, and only those you share the code with.

Satellite TV has many advantages as your home entertainment system. Whether you love movies, game shows, old shows, or sports, satellite TV has a package for you and much more.

I have Freeview via satelite. Can I setup wireless links so that I can watch different channels in 4 rooms?

I've seen wireless senders/receivers that let you control your main TV from another room. What I want is for people in different parts of the house to be able to watch different channels all fed from the same satelite dish. I'm happy to buy more freeview boxes if that's needed. But the system needs to be wireless.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

simple answer NO with one it may be ok but four makes it technically possible but cost prohibitive. and part from anything else you will only be able to watch the same programme on all tvs. buying more freeview boxes will not help either. it is the wirless part each sender unit would have to transmit on a different wavelength and the provison of four recievers will cause to much mixing of the transmissions
